Andreas & Åsa's Wedding Celebration 2025
OUR STORY

The Journey of Love
Okay, here comes the story of us – Andreas and Åsa – two people who love life, travel, food and each other. We met in the only place where magical love stories apparently start these days… Tinder! Yes, we swiped right and the rest is, as they say, history.
Andreas, our very own sea captain and chili lover, spends his time on the seven seas, or at least in the cold waters around Svalbard, where he steers the expedition ship M/S Freya.
He grew up in Kopparberg for the most part, but after many trips around the country, he moved to Mariehamn in 2007 to study to become a sea captain.
When he's not out at sea, you'll find him at home in the kitchen, experimenting with anything that can make your eyes water (and no, we're not talking about feelings, we're talking about chili). His love for chili is almost as strong as his love for Åsa!
Åsa, our creative songbird and kitchen expert, has her roots in Södertälje but landed in Åland in 2004 to give her children a safer environment to grow up in. She works as a process owner at the Bank of Åland and is the proud mother of two now grown children: Viktor, who lives in Åland, and Amanda, who now lives in Sweden.
When she’s not handling banking processes, she enjoys singing – a passion that has followed her throughout the years. Or you can find her in the kitchen with Andreas, experimenting with everything from classic favorites to new flavor experiences. And of course, everything is documented for their food account on Instagram – because no one wants to miss a great picture of their latest lasagna (and because it didn’t really happen if it wasn’t on Instagram)!
Our love story?
It started with a simple "hi" on Tinder, followed by endless messages while Andreas was at sea. When he finally got home, our first meeting wasn't just a regular date - it was a cooking session! And it didn't take long before we realized that we were a perfect match. It felt like we'd always known each other, and we could talk about just about anything. The food might not have been super hot that time, but what really warmed up the mood was when Andreas pulled out his phone and showed us pictures of polar bears from his travels. Nothing makes a better first impression than a polar bear, right?
Long distance and love in messages
A few days later, Andreas left for work again, but that didn't stop our contact. We wrote every day on Messenger, and when Andreas came home in December, we decided to celebrate with a long weekend in Stockholm. Christmas markets, good food and lots of laughter – it was magical! Since then, we have hardly been apart, except when Andreas is out on his expeditions.
The pandemic – a time to grow together
Then the pandemic came and the world shut down. But you know what? It gave us time to be together full-time! We couldn't travel, but we cooked a lot, laughed, and planned for the future. And now here we are, ready to celebrate our biggest adventure yet – our wedding!
About us today
Having survived both pandemics and Andreas’s spells at sea, we are now ready for the next big adventure: our wedding! When we’re not traveling or discovering new flavors (no, not just chili, we promise), we like to play games, try new restaurants, and enjoy all that life has to offer. We’re not afraid to try something new – whether it’s a new dish, a new game, or a new adventure.
On July 12, 2025, in Ljusnarsberg Church, we will say "I do" to each other, and then we will move on to Åkerby Herrgård for a party that no one will forget! There will be food, dancing and maybe the occasional surprise (maybe polar bear pictures on repeat, who knows?). And we promise – the food will not be so hot that it requires the fire brigade.
